Utah State had to be a little nervous to play their first game as a member of the Mountain West Conference. Going against the tough and disciplined Air Force offense for their first game is often a daunting task. If the Aggies had any nerves, they didn’t show it.

Chucky Keaton came out and lead the Utah State Aggies to a 14 – 0 lead early in the 1st quarter. Air Force appeared to fight back, but Utah State’s defense stepped up and forced the Falcon’s two scoring drives to end in field goals.

Chucky Keaton took charge and threw for five touch downs and 359 yards, completing 32 of 40 passes. Except for an interception with a little over a minute to go before half time, Chucky Keaton was near perfect.

Air Force managed to add a touch down in the 2nd and 4th quarters, but their defense could not stop the Aggies, who racked up 576 total yards and 52 points.

Football matters in Utah.
