I never had seen
A man work so hard
To pay the bills
To provide necessities

Even fishing
He never stopped
Standing in
The raging river
Not leaving
Till he catches his limit.

When the family comes
He cannot be found
Except in his room
Where he hides
Not from fear
But just to be alone.

Not just to be alone
For I am there
We watch T.V.
The extended family
Doesn’t know
How much he cares and feels.

His face shows
A concentrated mind
The responsibilities
That dominate his life
Are in his eyes,
Reflect from his countenance.

I have never seen
As great a man
As he who made me
As he who I imitate
In my manhood.
