Wings outstretched
No way to fly away
The blue sky and clouds
Hidden and unseen
Nor room to fly
Or even flap my wings

Energy thriving
Pulsing through my veins
Useless, unneeded
Draining away
To soar once more
To fly with grace

Held down by my choices
Made in life

Oh, to escape
To have room for my wings
To feel the quiet air
Press up on my skin
Elevating me high

Circling and diving
Prey in my claws

Never again
For I am trapped
With nowhere to throw my fire

A dragon in a cage.
